Inspiration for the Re-Knit of the Free Shawl Knitting Pattern

When I decided to release Arctic Waters as a free shawl knitting pattern, I knew I wanted to do something a little different. I loved the single-color shawlette that it had originally been (seriously, I could throw it on with EVERYTHING), but I wanted to show the versatility of this fabulous easy shawl pattern.

Since it was in DK weight originally, I knew a marled fade was the way to go. They’re seriously addicting and a great way to use up some of those fabulous single skeins of fingering weight yarn.

Then I ran into the Summer Camp Fibers booth at Knitting Live and I knew I wanted to create some summer fun with their vibrant and inspiring colors!

Katie and I worked together to create a fabulous white to pink to purple fade that just makes me so happy every time I put it on–which has been almost every evening this summer!

Katie and her boys have made some fabulous fade kits, which you can grab for 15% off using the code ARCTICWATERS.
