Blossom & Vine is now growing to fit the whole family! Check out how this easy lace knitting pattern is now a matching adult & child sweater and why you’ll want to knit it again and again!
If you’ve knit the Blossom & Vine Cowl (grab the premium pattern for free below!) then you know how addictive this easy lace knitting pattern is!
The simple lace forms a soaring V, flanked on either side by cute little cherry-like lace. The lace is worked only on the front and back center panel with quick and easy stockinette in the round on the side and every other round.
The lace pattern is addictive. It’s exciting to see the progress that each new round brings!

The Speed of a Knit Lace Sweater Pattern
You’ll be amazed at how FAST this knit lace sweater pattern works up. Worked in a worsted weight yarn, you can see the inches piling up each day. It’s astonishing how quickly you can go from cast on to bind off.
The easy lace knitting pattern keeps you engaged, while it’s still simple enough to be fast and relaxing!
It’s the perfect balance between mindless and mindful and you’ll want to revisit it again and again. And now you can with matching adult & child sweaters!
According to my daughter, it was time for a matching mother & daughter sweater set!
Campfire & Campfire Mini, the matching father & son sweaters, were such a hit that I had to create a matching mother and daughter (or grandmother and granddaughter) set. While the unisex Campfire pairing is a matching family set, the lace in Blossom & Vine marks this set as distinctly feminine.
Get the whole family involved with matching Blossom & Vine Cowls! (I think I mentioned that you can get the premium pattern FREE!) So that you can have that lovely matching multi-generational moment.

The Matching Lace Sweater Pattern Range
The smallest Blossom & Vine Mini sweater starts as child’s size 2! So if they’re anything like my kiddos, they’ll be in it by 16 months old lol!
The Blossom & Vine Adult ranges from a 31”/78.5 cm to a 63”/160 cm finished bust to fit absolutely everyone. (If you ever find the range of one of my patterns that doesn’t fit you, please contact me IMMEDIATELY and I will rectify the situation!)
The Blossom & Vine Cowl has 2 cowl sizes and an infinity scarf length to fit your (or your sisters’ or your grandma’s) style perfectly!
Do me a favor and do NOT gift your preschool-aged granddaughter a non-superwash wool sweater. That momma needs something easy to care for when she inevitably spills half that morning’s yogurt on it or finds that one marker that she missed during clean up last night. The 5 tips below will help you pick the right yarn for your special kid’s sweater.
I chose Knit Picks Shine Worsted for these matching adult & child sweaters for a few important reasons:
1. It’s an easy wash yarn. So even though I won’t intentionally throw it in the washer, I don’t have to worry if it gets lost in the hamper one time.
2. It’s a cotton/beachwood Modal blend. This means it’s soft with a capital S-O-F-T.
3. A non-wool yarn equals no chance that my picky 4-year-old is going to say “It’s itchy!” after all that hard work and refuse to wear it.
4. The cooler, plant-based fabric means she can wear it longer during the year.
5. It’s natural, yet affordable. I’m buying enough yarn for 2 sweaters and some matching accessories. I can’t afford to break the bank.
When knitting for kids never knit with a yarn that will absolutely break your heart if it’s ruined. And keep in mind that it may fit them for only 6 months to 3 years of hard wearing.
In other words, I love my kids and would give them a kidney, but I don’t give them the fancy yarn.

My #1 Tips for Successfully Finishing Matching Easy Lace Knitting Patterns
Start with the smallest projects first.
If you’re knitting 2 cowls for the grandmas, 1 adult sweater for yourself, and 2 matching kids sweaters for your 2 daughters, start with the cowls!
Having those quick finishes under your belt will give you the excitement and momentum to work on and finish the smallest kid’s sweater and then the biggest kid’s sweater.
Once you’ve knocked out all the small projects like a champ, there’s no way you’re not going to finish yours!! Think of the photo opportunities!!! And since you’ve had so much practice on the other 4, you could practically knit that pattern in your sleep.
You’ll be done with time to spare for your next family holiday!
